Mighty Marvel Veteran, Thor Odinson AKA Chris Hemsworth himself is set to Play Prince Charming in Paul King’s upcoming film. A report by Deadline has delivered the confirmation of Chris’ involvement in the project as the titular character.
Paul King, the visionary behind Paddington and Wonka, has set his sights on the beloved fairytale prince for his upcoming live-action project. And who better to fill this role than Hemsworth, with his larger-than-life charisma and, let’s be real, those princely looks?
However, Disney has not confirmed Chris Hemsworth’s involvement as Prince Charming yet!
There have been many takes of Prince Charming since his introduction in Cinderella (1950). This one, however, seems like a different take given the fact that Chris is 41 at the moment. Lore-accurate Prince Charming, however, is considered between 19 to 21. In the original one, he was 18 as Wikipedia suggests.
Prince Charming is known for being an eye candy. In all his lores, he has been at the center of attention from girls (except his eyes have been on Cinderella, of course). But Deadline suggests this new Prince Charming movie could not be about his connection with Cinderella.
Now, if you’re thinking this will be another retelling of Cinderella, think again! Sources hint that this film will explore new sides of Prince Charming that we’ve never seen before. Forget the glass slipper chase; this could dive into more complex tales from Disney’s deep vault of lore. What happens after “happily ever after?” Are there curses, quests, or royal dilemmas waiting for our charming hero?
The project itself has yet to be officially confirmed by Disney, but with Hemsworth’s recent lineup of bold roles, like Furiosa and voicing Optimus Prime in Transformers One; there’s no doubt that this one is high on our (or at least mine) radar.
And I am not going to lie, I am dying to see how the movie unfolds!
But I guess there’s some time left.
So sign up, and I will keep you in the loop with every detail about the project as soon as it’s released!
Also, check out a few critics’ reviews to pass the time meanwhile.
