While June 2025 has been kind for film lovers, giving beautiful titles like F1 and How to Train Your Dragon live-action remake, I guess July will still dominate. Hear me out here! You will feel the same when you check out the calendar of July 2025 movies.
You might have heard of James Gunn’s Superman already. That’s probably one of the most anticipated films releasing in July 2025, honestly. Thank god there’s no other popular title set for the same day release, otherwise it would get obliterated at the box office.
List of Movies Coming Out in July 2025
Jurassic World: Rebirth
Release Date: July 2, 2025
Director: Gareth Edwards
Cast: Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, Jonathan Bailey, Rupert Friend, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo
Trailer:
It was over two decades before when movies with “Jurassic” in them managed to impress a global audience. Jurassic World just didn’t have what it took to make the franchise loved, and that is how the last three movies failed terribly. Especially, Jurassic World: Dominion. I tried watching that, and I am not sure why it was even made.
Anyway, all those conversations are in the past. We are getting a reboot of the franchise starring Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, and Jonathan Bailey. Gareth Edwards is the guy directing the whole thing. You know the movie “Rogue One” from the Star Wars Universe? That’s his direction.
He also directed 2014’s Godzilla and 2023’s The Creator. Both movies were quite decent, I guess. But yeah, with Jurassic World, there are some big shoes to fill. Let’s see what is waiting for us in the theatre, whether it’s full-blown terror of Jurassic era monsters, the same as we felt in the original trilogy, or another attempt that explodes?
Why don’t you check out Korean horror films, meanwhile?
Superman
Release Date: July 11, 2025
Director: James Gunn
Cast: David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan, Nicholas Hoult, Isabel Merced, Nathan Fillion
Trailer:
James Gunn is bringing his magic back to the screens with Superman’s new adaptation starring David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan. This Superman is also kickstarting the new era of the DC film universe, where Lanterns, Supergirl, Mister Terrific, Hawkgirl, and plenty of other DC characters are confirmed to join.
Honestly, it’s been a while since Henry Cavill has moved on from the mantle of Superman. But given the impact he had delivered with Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel, these are some big shoes to fill. But in James Gunn we trust, and David is already giving the vibe that he is rocking the role!
Out of the blue, but 2024 was a good year for Superhero shows. Give them a shot!
The Smurfs Movie
Release Date: July 18, 2025
Director: Chris Miller
Cast: Rihanna, Nick Offerman, Natasha Lyonne, Dan Levy, Kurt Russell, John Goodman
Trailer:
I’ll admit, I didn’t expect to be this pumped for a Smurfs movie, but hear me out, Rihanna as Smurfette, writing and performing original songs? That’s next-level. This musical take on the blue crew is stacked with talent like Nick Offerman and Octavia Spencer.
It’s perfect for families, but I’m secretly hoping for some catchy tunes I’ll be humming all summer. If you’re looking for a fun outing with the kids (or just want to relive some childhood nostalgia), this one’s a must-see among animated July 2025 Movies hitting the screen.

I Know What You Did Last Summer
Release Date: July 18, 2025
Director: Jennifer Kaytin Robinson
Cast: Jennifer Love Hewitt, Freddie Prinze Jr., Madelyn Cline, Lola Tung
Trailer:
The R-rated horror movie is coming to theatres on the same day as The Smurfs Movie- talk about polar opposites. It’s a reboot but brings back Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr. from the original. As for the story, it follows friends stalked after a traumatic past event, classic horror with a modern twist. If you love jump scares and suspense, you’ll be gripping your popcorn tightly for this one. Posts on X are already hyping it as a summer horror standout.
Eddington
Release Date: July 18, 2025
Director: Ari Aster
Cast: Joaquin Phoenix, Pedro Pascal, Luke Grimes, Emma Stone
Trailer:
If you’re a fan of A24’s movies, you will love Eddington. You can watch it on July 18 itself. So, I guess the day is going to look quite busy if you’re planning on watching all of the movies coming out that day. Ari Aster is directing the movie.
You know, the guy behind Midsommar, Beau is Afraid, and Hereditary? That’s Ari Aster. You should definitely give a shot to his work. Personally, he is a genius when it comes to directing the most obscure movies in existence. I mean that in the most complimentary way possible.
Another reason why you should watch the movie is because of Joaquin Phoenix and Pedro Pascal. These two dudes are delivering a political and social drama set during COVID-19 in a fictional Mexican town. I am just excited because of the cast and the director. Marked it among the films releasing in July 2025 that I definitely have to watch in theatres. How about you?
Do you think Ari Aster makes weird movies? Well, wait until you try French horror movies!
The Fantastic Four: First Steps
Release Date: July 18, 2025
Director: Ari Aster
Cast: Joaquin Phoenix, Pedro Pascal, Luke Grimes
Trailer:
July’s calendar of movies in 2025 is bringing the DC vs Marvel rivalry once again to the bring screen, this time, Pedro Pascal is the leading face. Matt Shakman’s adaptation of The Fantastic Four story has been a title anticipated by superhero film lovers for a while. It’s just something everybody is dying to see, thanks to the possibility that Galactus might finally have a significant screen time.
Marvel’s First Family is back, and I’m ready to cheer for Reed Richards (Pedro Pascal) and Sue Storm (Vanessa Kirby). This MCU entry skips the origin story and dives into the Multiverse Saga, setting up future Avengers crossovers.
You don’t need to be a superhero fan to watch it; it’s going to be for everybody who loves a little touch of fantasy, heroism, and a great tale of family bonding.
Honestly, that’s all I am excited for from the calendar of July 2025 Movies!
It’s not like there are no more movies coming this month; there are at least 20 to 30 more films, as IMDB’s calendar suggests. But the ones I have listed above are getting the most attention. But if I missed something, feel free to let me know.
