Shrek 5 Cast Announcement

When Is Shrek 5 Coming Out?

Shrek 5 is hitting theaters on December 23, 2026, just in time for Christmas.

Originally penciled in for July 2026, Universal pushed it back to give us a holiday treat. Perfect timing to grab some popcorn and escape to the swamp with the family!

Will Shrek 5 Have Puss in Boots?

Here’s the catch: Antonio Banderas’ Puss in Boots hasn’t been confirmed for Shrek 5

The first-look video and announcements focus on Shrek, Fiona, Donkey, and Zendaya’s character, leaving Puss’ return up in the air.

After his standout role in Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, fans (and that includes me too) are crossing their fingers for a cameo—or maybe a bigger part (I am praying all Gods I know of to make that happen honestly!)

Will Shrek 5 Be the Last One?

No official word yet on whether Shrek 5 will close the book on the franchise. DreamWorks has kept things open-ended, especially with Eddie Murphy teasing that Donkey spinoff. The Puss in Boots movies (like 2022’s The Last Wish) proved there’s still life in this universe, so don’t count out more swamp adventures just yet. For now, it’s all about enjoying this next chapter!

So Hyped to for More Shrek 5 Trailers!

The first-look clip gives us a peek at Zendaya’s character, and fans are already hyped. She’s rocking that ogre vibe with a modern twist—think teenage rebellion meets swamp charm. After Shrek Forever After (2010) left us with a 5/10 rating—calling it a “compromise” as Shrek settled into a tamer life—hopes are high that Shrek 5 will bring back the magic of the earlier films.

So, what do you think?
