Here is my honest, spoiler-free The Family Man 3 review for fans who want to know if the 4-year wait was actually worth the hype.

Just finished The Family Man season 3, and honestly, this wait of four years was worth every second. But before I take you ahead in my The Family Man 3 Review, I must warn you of possible spoilers. I have to discuss the ending of this season ahead, so there will be spoilers. If you want my quick opinion, I say, it’s an amazing compilation of 7 episodes. Give it a shot.

This banger of an Indian spy thriller was dropped on Prime Video on November 23, 2025, and has already bombarded social media platforms with discussions around its awesomeness. Makes sense, given this time it’s not just Manoj Bajpayee who dominated the screen, but there was Jaideep Ahlawat as well.

You can say, both characters feel like Yin and Yang, colliding into a backdrop of nationalism, terrorism, and politics puppeteered by billionaires.

Now, Here’s My Honest Review of The Family Man Season 3

The title card we waited four long years to see again.

Makers of the show really messed up with the ending. You drop a season after almost 4 years, and then place an ending like this without having an official release date for the fourth season.

While Manoj Bajpayee has confirmed that there’s going to be a fourth season, the ending, where the last scene cuts to credits, felt really annoying. And honestly, this wasn’t a unique climax either. This attempt to make viewers desperate for the next season has been used in The Blacklist Season 3, Covert Affairs Season 3, The Flash Season 3, Burn Notice Season 3, and many more.

You see? There’s a pattern in spy shows with characters just dying off on-screen.

It was going so brilliantly throughout the whole season, I loved every second of it, especially with how Jaideep Ahlawat’s character Rukma had the potential to dominate every other villain the show had in the previous season. But now I can’t help but think about the ending, which was meant to keep us excited for Shrikant Tiwari’s fate, but instead, feels like a cliche.

But let’s move on from my whining about the ending and focus on the good part, shall we? So, apart from the ending (yeah.. Not again!), the music used in the show was my second favorite thing, but first was definitely the gorgeous backdrop of the North East.

Family Man Season 3 Filming Locations Are Literal Heaven

The show was mainly shot in Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh. As you explore its episodes, you will travel to the gorgeous views of Khonoma, Jakhama, and Jotsoma, among other locations. According to reports, over 500 locals were part of the job. Some were hired, while others were volunteers.

The Family Man Season 3 Music Highlights Rising Talent

The stakes have never been higher—Srikant goes from hunter to hunted.

Apart from a catchy, but short af (sadly), intro music which returns after season 1 and 2 with a little touch-up, there are tons of new songs being used as BGMs and for credits from rising stars like Rebel, Tre Ess, and Moko Koza. Hear songs like Tribally Savage and Terror by Rebel and Tre Ess if you want to feel the vibe of the show before you dive in.

It’s hell of a ride!

Some new cast members were introduced in The Family Man Season 3

Jaideep Ahlawat’s transformation into Rukma is terrifyingly good—easily the season’s MVP.

Apart from Jaideep Ahlawat as Rukma, the show introduces new cast members like Jugal Hansraj, Nimrat Kaur, Aditya Srivastava, Seema Biswas, Gul Panag, and more. There’s one surprising cameo as well, which might catch you off guard with the excitement. So, I will not reveal the character. Here’s a clue, tho, the character I am talking about doesn’t know how to drive a car!

Here’s My The Family Man Season 3 Rating

Rating: 3 out of 5.

I am in a pickle, to be honest. I don’t want the thrill of the whole season and the amazing work by its cast to be overshadowed by the way this season ended. But, I won’t shy away from making my disappointment obvious.

So, I will rate the show 3 out of 5. But again, the whole journey, from the moment the show begins with a continuous handheld shot used as the epilogue to the moments before ending, remains a hell of a ride. So, give it a shot for sure. Maybe it’s just not my taste, but you will appreciate what they did at the end.

Don’t forget to let me know if you have any counterarguments that might change my mind?

And by the way, give my other reviews a shot if you’re a fan of Indian shows and films!

FAQs

Is The Family Man Season 3 actually worth the hype?

Yes, it is a must-watch, but the ending is polarizing. While the performances by Manoj Bajpayee and Jaideep Ahlawat are top-tier and the North East cinematography is stunning, the cliffhanger finale has frustrated a significant chunk of the audience. It delivers high-octane thrills for 7 episodes before stumbling on a “bait-and-switch” conclusion.

When is The Family Man Season 4 releasing?

Expect a release around late 2027 or 2028. While Amazon Prime hasn’t dropped an official date, the pattern of four-year gaps between seasons suggests a long wait. The cliffhanger ending of Season 3 (Srikant’s crash) guarantees a renewal, and Manoj Bajpayee has publicly confirmed the story isn’t over.

What is Manoj Bajpayee’s salary for Family Man Season 3?

Manoj Bajpayee reportedly charged between ₹20-22 crore for the season. This pay hike makes him one of the highest-paid stars on Indian OTT. For context, the lead antagonist, Jaideep Ahlawat (Rukma), is rumored to have taken home approximately ₹9 crore for his role.

Is Family Man Season 3 a hit or flop?

It is a certified blockbuster. despite mixed reviews about the climax. Released on November 23, 2025, the show immediately trended at #1 on Prime Video. The “hate-watching” of the finale has paradoxically boosted engagement, cementing it as a commercial success even if critical reception dipped slightly.

What is the Reddit consensus on Family Man Season 3?

Reddit users are praising the villain but roasting the writers. Threads on r/IndianOTT highlight Jaideep Ahlawat’s “Rukma” as the season’s MVP, often ranking him above previous villains. However, the “lazy” cliffhanger ending is being heavily criticized as a cheap tactic to force a fourth season.

Why is the IMDb rating for Family Man 3 dropping?

Review bombing of the finale is dragging the score down. The overall rating hovers around 8/10, which is excellent, but lower than Seasons 1 and 2. While the acting and production quality scores are near-perfect, negative reviews specifically targeting the “unresolved” final episode are skewing the average.

Can I watch Family Man Season 3 on Netflix or JioCinema?

No, it is exclusive to Amazon Prime Video. As an Amazon Original series, it is not available on Netflix, Disney+ Hotstar, or JioCinema, and likely never will be.
